Ítem Acceso abierto Burnout syndrome and strategies for coping with stress in nurses of the intensive care unit of the Lima hospital, 2022(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2023-03-05) Guzman Cruz, Monica Mariela; Arevalo Marcos, Rodolfo AmadoThe existence of chronic stress at work causes burnout, a group at high risk of developing this syndrome are nursing professionals who provide care to critically ill patients, therefore it is essential that they have strategies to deal with complicated situations; so that they can provide humanized and efficient care. The objective is to determine how the burnout syndrome is related to the stress coping strategies of the nurses of the intensive care unit of the Lima 2022 hospital, the methodology will be hypothetical deductive, quantitative approach, the type of research will be applied. The design of this study will be observational, non-experimental, correlational, cross-sectional. This study will have a sample of 80 care nurses who work in the intensive care unit of the Lima hospital, the survey technique will be used, the instrument is a questionnaire to identify burnout syndrome called Maslach Burnout Inventory (22 items) and for the evaluation of stress coping strategies, the COPE stress coping estimation inventory (28 items) will be used. Both instruments use a Likert scale for their responses. The reliability of the Maslach and Jackson questionnaire is 0.90 for emotional exhaustion, 0.79 for depersonalization, and 0.71 for personal fulfillment, with an internal consistency for all items of 0.80. The authors of COPE obtained a reliability through the Cronbach alpha coefficient of 0.45 and 0.92.
