Ítem Acceso abierto Effectiveness of an Educational Intervention on Knowledge and Practices of Basic Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation in Teachers of Educational Institution No. 64103 Teniente Diego Ferre Sosa, Ucayali – 2023(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2024-08-05) Malpartida Silva, Isabel Gladys; Herrera Miranda, Oscar EnriqueThis study investigated how an Educational Intervention affects the knowledge and practices of Basic Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation in teachers of the Educational Institution No. 64103 Teniente Diego Ferre Sosa, Ucayali - 2023. It used a hypothetical-deductive, quantitative, applied, non-experimental, longitudinal and explanatory. 50 teachers from the institution participated, with a sample of 42. The pre-test results showed that 92.9% of the teachers had low knowledge in CPR, while the post-test revealed a significant increase: 59.5% reached a high level of knowledge, 35.7 % a medium level and only 4.8% maintained a low level. In practical CPR skills, the pretest indicated 92.9% with low effectiveness, improving to 59.5% with high effectiveness post intervention. These findings support the alternative hypothesis (H1) and reject the null hypothesis (H0), demonstrating the effectiveness of the educational intervention in improving both knowledge and practical skills of CPR among teachers.Ítem Acceso abierto Risk factors associated with mortality in the intermediate care unit of the Edgardo Rebagliati Martins National Hospital 2019-2020(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2024-08-10) Talledo Chavez, Estuardo Alonso; Herrera Miranda, Oscar EnriqueThis research aimed to determine the risk factors associated with mortality in patients in the intermediate care unit of the National Hospital Edgardo Rebagliati Martins, 2019-2020; and to determine the mortality rate and the percentage of compliance with the FAST-HUG protocol in these patients from June 2019 to June 2020. An observational analytical cross-sectional study method was used. Patients admitted to the intermediate emergency care unit were studied, evaluating sociodemographic and clinical variables. Descriptive and inferential statistics were generated to assess the association between sociodemographic and clinical variables with patient mortality. The results showed a mortality rate of 20.5%. FAST-HUG protocol compliance was 58.9%. The factors associated with mortality in the ICU were moderate thrombocytopenia and severe anemia. Conclusion: Mortality remains high, representing one-fifth of the population admitted to the ICU, and the factors associated with higher mortality include hematological dysregulations such as severe anemia and moderate thrombocytopenia.
