Ítem Acceso abierto Emotional intelligence and anxiety in nursing professionals in the emergency area in a hospital in Lima(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2023-12-10) Huamán Baca, Alicia Rebeca; Palomino Taquire, RewardsObjective: To determine the relationship between emotional intelligence and anxiety levels among nursing professionals in the emergency unit of a public hospital in Lima. Methodology: A study was conducted with a quantitative approach, applied type, non-experimental design, correlational scope, and cross-sectional methodology. The sample consisted of 65 participants, with a census sampling approach since the entire population was included. Data were collected using two questionnaires. The first questionnaire, structured as a survey, measured emotional intelligence and consisted of 24 items distributed across three dimensions. The second instrument, also a survey, measured anxiety levels and comprised 14 items across two dimensions. These instruments provided the necessary data for the investigation. Results: The findings will be presented in frequency and percentage tables using descriptive and inferential statistics. Conclusion: The study aims to establish a relationship between the variables and set a precedent in the analysis of emotional intelligence and anxiety levels.Ítem Acceso abierto Emotional intelligence and work stress in nurses of the gynecology-obstetrics service of the Hospital Nacional Docente Madre Niño San Bartolomé-2018.(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2018-07-23) Huamán Baca, Alicia Rebeca; Tanco Cirilo, Yovana Martina; Calsin Pacompia, WilmerObjective: To determine the relationship between emotional intelligence and work-related stress in nurses from the Obstetrics and Gynecology Department at the Madre Niño San Bartolomé Teaching Hospital in 2018. Materials and Methods: A quantitative, non-experimental, cross-sectional, and correlational study was conducted. The sample consisted of 40 nurses, and the data collection technique used was a survey. The instruments used were the Trait Meta-Mood Scale for emotional intelligence and The Nursing Stress Scale for work-related stress. Statistical processing was performed using the SPSS 24 software. Results: 67.5% of nurses showed average emotional intelligence development, and 17.5% had good emotional intelligence development. Regarding the dimensions, most nurses showed average emotional intelligence development, ranging from 50.0% to 67.5%. Regarding work-related stress, 57.5% of nurses had medium stress levels, and 42.5% had low work-related stress. In the dimensions, almost all nurses reported medium stress levels, ranging from 57.5% to 87.5%, except in the hierarchy problems dimension, where 55.0% had low work-related stress. The chi-square test was applied to determine the relationship between emotional intelligence and work-related stress, resulting in a value of 0.081. Conclusion: There is no relationship between emotional intelligence and work-related stress in the nurses of the Obstetrics and Gynecology Department at the Madre Niño San Bartolomé Teaching Hospital.
