Ítem Acceso abierto Nursing care in preventing pressure ulcers in ICU patients in a hospital, Lima - 2018(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2019-05-30) Huamán Candia, Eloy; Gonzales Saldaña, Susan HaydeeMaterial and methods: Descriptive study with a quantitative, cross-sectional approach. The population was made up of 150 nursing professionals who work in the ICU service of the HNERM. The instrument used was the UPP nursing care questionnaire, which was validated and reliable. Results: Regarding the variable level of nursing care, it was found that of 150 nurses (100%), 58% (87) presented medium nursing care, followed by 24.70% (37) low and 17.30% ( 26) high. According to its dimensions, it was obtained for preventive measures in pressure injury that 41.30% (62) was medium; followed by 29.30% (44) high; equal to 29.30% (44) low. In the nursing care dimension for pressure injuries, 60.60% (91) was medium; followed by 28.70% (43) low; and 10.70% (16) high. Conclusion: The level of nursing care in pressure injury prevention was medium, which reflects that nurses do not provide adequate nursing care.
