    Patients, upon attending the hospital, seek quality care and prescriptions that are properly completed and free of health risks. Objective: To quantify the percentage of compliance with Good Prescribing Practices and the presence of Drug Interactions in medical prescriptions from the Emergency Department. Methodology: An inductive method with a quantitative approach, basic type, and a descriptive, retrospective design was applied. A total of 330 medical prescriptions from the department were reviewed. Data were processed using Excel and SPSS. Results: A 100% non-compliance rate was observed in prescriptions regarding the overall presence of prescribing indicators. The patient data dimension showed 99% compliance with its indicators, medication data 97%, and prescriber data 82%, with deficiencies in “legible handwriting” (41%) and “expiration date” (0%). Regarding drug interactions, a prevalence of 19% was identified, predominantly pharmacodynamic type at 18%. The most frequent clinical severity was moderate (72%), followed by mild (25%). Conclusion: It was concluded that there was no full compliance in prescriptions, and drug interactions of moderate severity were identified.
