Ítem Acceso abierto Handgrip strength obtained by dynamometry as an indicator of mortality risk in patients with hemodialysis.(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2020-08-14) Huamaní Huamán, Cynthia Giovanna; Pasache Moreno, Julissa MaríaNutritional intervention is important to measure manual pressure strength by dynamometry and determine if this technique can identify the risk of mortality in patients on hemodialysis. The present work aimed to identify the sensitivity of this test to determine the risk of mortality. The clinical question was: Is dynamometry a predictor of mortality risk in patients on RRT for Hemodialysis? The Evidence-Based Nutrition (NuBE) methodology was used. The information search was carried out in PUBMED, MEDLINE, SCIELO, SCOPUS, SCIENCE DIRECT, finding 24 articles, which have been evaluated by the CASPE critical reading tool, ultimately selecting the research work entitled “Manual pressure force as a predictor of mortality from all causes in patients with chronic kidney disease undergoing dialysis: a meta-analysis of prospective cohort studies”, which has a level of evidence I and a strong Grade of Recommendation. It was concluded that the measurement of HGS provides us with useful information about muscle strength in patients and that it could be a simple and reliable tool to predict mortality in patients with CKD undergoing dialysis.
