Ítem Acceso abierto Effects of workload overload on the job performance of nursing staff.(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2018-07-08) Huaman Rosales, Magaly Mirella; Perez Siguas, Rosa EvaObjective: To systematize the evidence on the effects of work overload on the job performance of nursing staff. Materials and Methods: An observational and retrospective systematic review of a quantitative nature was conducted, subjected to critical selection, using the GRADE evaluation system to identify the level of evidence, found in the following databases: PubMed, Sciencedirect, Scielo, Wiley Online Library, Elsevier, Epistemonikos. Of the 10 articles reviewed, 40% are bibliographic reviews, 30% are descriptive studies, 20% are qualitative studies, and 10% are literature reviews. According to the results obtained from the systematic review conducted in this study, the articles come from Brazil (20%, n=2/10), Chile, Colombia, and Peru (10%, n=1/10). Results: Of the evidence found, 100% (n=10/10) indicate that work overload negatively affects the job performance of nursing staff. Conclusion: It is concluded that the effects of work overload influence the job performance of nursing staff, reducing productivity, leading to lower performance, causing serious physical and mental health problems, and negatively affecting their efficiency and quality of life, thereby decreasing their professional performance.
