Publicación Acceso abierto Nivel de conocimiento de hiperprolactinemia y actitudes al tratamiento farmacológico en pacientes de la Clínica San Pedro, Huacho – 2021–2022(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2022-10-06) Huaman Soca, Sonia; Tapia Barazorda, Yolanda Monica; Esteves Pairazaman, Ambrocio TeodoroObjective: To determine the relationship between the level of knowledge of hyperprolactinemia and attitudes toward pharmacological treatment among patients at Clínica San Pedro, Huacho (2021–2022). Methodology: This was a non-experimental, applied study with a quantitative, descriptive-correlational, prospective, and cross-sectional design. The sample consisted of 234 patients aged 18 to 40 years. Data were collected using a survey technique and a structured questionnaire. A 95% confidence level was applied. Results: Findings indicate a relationship between knowledge of hyperprolactinemia and attitudes toward pharmacological treatment. Among participants with a medium level of knowledge, agreement with treatment was higher (35.9%; n=84), whereas among those with a high level of knowledge, disagreement with pharmacological treatment was more frequent (29.9%; n=70). Conclusion: There is a significant relationship between the level of knowledge of hyperprolactinemia and patients’ attitudes toward pharmacological treatment. Chi-square test results confirmed statistical significance, with an asymptotic bilateral significance value of ≤ 0.00.
