While the abandonment of exclusive breastfeeding is due to different reasons that include the social context, economic situation, biological and mental state of the mother, as well as the health system whose important role is the dissemination and creation of preventive policies to promote exclusive breastfeeding. Likewise, the factors are described as any element, circumstance and influence that an event has the possibility of occurring, causing and contributing to the abandonment of exclusive breastfeeding. Objective: Determine the factors associated with the abandonment of exclusive breastfeeding in hospitalized neonates in a Puente Piedra Hospital, 2020. Methodology: A quantitative approach study will be carried out and the methodological design of the research is longitudinally explanatory. The study population will be made up of 50 mothers of newborns hospitalized in a Puente Piedra Hospital to whom the Exclusive Breastfeeding Survey questionnaire will be applied as an instrument. The data obtained will be tabulated and statistically processed, applying the SPSS 26 statistical package and Excel.
