The study aims to determine the risk factors for gastric cancer associated with lifestyle and medication with proton pump inhibitors in users of the Ahorro y Salud pharmacy. Ate-Lima 2024. The type of research was basic, deductive, non-experimental and cross-sectional. The population consisted of 120 users who visit the Ahorro y Salud pharmacy approximately every two weeks, and the sample consisted of 92 of these users. As outstanding results, it was reported that users attending the Ahorro y Salud-Ate pharmacy had an unhealthy consumption lifestyle (63.0%), where the products were tobacco, salt and alcohol, these being risk factors for gastric cancer. Likewise, regarding the use of proton pump inhibitors among users attending the Ahorro y Salud pharmacy, it was found that 66% showed adherence to PPI treatment. Omeprazole was the most frequently prescribed medication (37.9%), with gastroesophageal reflux being the most commonly diagnosed symptom, and nausea was the most frequently reported adverse reaction within the study sample (13% – sometimes). It was concluded that the risk factors for gastric cancer were associated with an unhealthy lifestyle and the use of omeprazole, a proton pump inhibitor, which was the most frequently prescribed medication among users attending the Ahorro y Salud pharmacy.
