Ítem Acceso abierto Describe the influence of the consumption of phytochemicals in skin cancer.(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2021-02-26) Huanqui Santiago, Jorge Alberto; Bohórquez Medina, Andrea LisbetSkin cancer is a group of neoplastic diseases that originate from the development of cancer cells in some layer of the skin and as a result of exposure to external elements that harm and generate alterations in the DNA. On the other hand, phytochemicals are secondary metabolites processed by plants whose function is to protect plants from infections, excessive radiation, predators, water or salt stress, in addition to providing color and flavor to fruits and vegetables. The present research entitled “Critical review: influence of phytochemical consumption on skin cancer”, aimed to describe the influence of phytochemical consumption on skin cancer. The NuBe methodology was used, which allowed a search for articles related to the problem in various databases, considering articles published from 2014 to the present, selecting 32 articles and of which a review titled “An update” was selected. on the role of dietary phytochemicals in human skin cancer: new knowledge about molecular mechanisms” and which was analyzed by the CASPe method, resulting in a level of evidence I and a strong recommendation level. The study addresses the various phytochemicals found in foods and the anti-inflammatory, antioxidant and anti-cancer properties they have.
