Ítem Acceso abierto Anxiety level of patients during dental care in times of Covid 19 at the Cerdent clinic - Miraflores headquarters San Antonio 2020(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2021-05-15) Huapaya Chalco, Meylin Alexandra; Vergara Pinto, Brenda RoxanaDental anxiety is a condition significantly affecting the population, manifesting as fear, worry, unease, etc., due to past experiences that hinder routine activities such as seeking dental care, leading to treatment abandonment, fear of dentists, and more. This issue has been exacerbated by the COVID-19 pandemic. The objective of this study was to determine the level of anxiety among patients during dental care in the context of COVID-19 at the Cerdent Clinic - Miraflores, San Antonio branch, in 2020. This was a descriptive, observational, prospective, and cross-sectional study. The sample included 201 patients over 18 years old. The SDAI and MDAS questionnaires, comprising a total of 14 questions, were used to measure anxiety levels as well as control variables like age and gender. Data were processed using a descriptive analysis for each question. The results showed that 85.15% of patients were classified as extremely anxious according to the SDAI, and 42.57% had moderate anxiety according to the MDAS. In conclusion, 100% of the surveyed patients presented some level of anxiety during dental care in the context of COVID-19 at the Cerdent Clinic - Miraflores, San Antonio branch, in 2020.
