Publicación Acceso abierto Nivel de conocimiento en el uso de métodos anticonceptivos en adolescentes de educación secundaria en tres colegios de Lima en el periodo de octubre a diciembre 2018(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2019-06-10) Huapaya Coronación, Carla Jacqueline; Rodriguez Paulino, Fanny Guisela; Félix Véliz, Luis Miguel VisitaciónThe present research aimed to determine the level of knowledge regarding the use of contraceptive methods among secondary school adolescents in three schools in Lima. The methodology employed a pre-experimental design; in its initial phase, an observational, descriptive, and prospective study was carried out between October and December 2018. Data were obtained through a validated questionnaire, which was applied to all students who met the inclusion criteria. In the first stage, an anonymous pretest was administered to the adolescents in order to assess their existing level of knowledge. After four weeks, an educational intervention was conducted, followed by the administration of a posttest. The results showed that, prior to the educational intervention, 53.1% of the participants demonstrated a low level of knowledge, 45.0% a medium level, and 1.9% a high level. Following the intervention, 4.9% of the adolescents presented a low level of knowledge, 44.9% a medium level, and 50.2% a high level. In conclusion, the adolescents achieved a significant increase in their level of knowledge about contraceptive methods after the educational intervention.
