Ítem Acceso abierto Effectiveness of automated weaning versus non-automated weaning to reduce mechanical ventilation duration in critical care patients(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2020-01-05) Huauya Jimenez, Marisol; Zambrano Cruz, Miguel; Gamarra Bustillos, CarlosObjective: Systematize the evidence on the effectiveness of automated versus non-automated weaning to reduce the duration of mechanical ventilation in patients in critical units. Material and Methods: Systematic observational and retrospective review, submitted to the GRADE evaluation system to identify the degree of evidence of the articles published in the following databases Elsevier, Wiley, PubMed, Epistemonikos and Open Access. Of the 10 articles systematically reviewed, 100% were of high quality, such as: 20% were Meta-Analyses, 20% were systematic reviews and 60% were controlled trials. Results: 70% indicate that automated weaning is more effective than non-automated weaning to reduce the duration of mechanical ventilation in patients in critical units. 20% point out that automated weaning is similar to non-automated weaning to reduce the duration of mechanical ventilation in patients in critical units. 10% indicate that non-automated weaning is more effective than automated weaning in reducing the duration of mechanical ventilation in patients in critical units. Conclusion: Automated weaning is more effective than non-automated weaning in reducing the duration of mechanical ventilation in patients in critical units.
