Ítem Acceso abierto Family violence and self-esteem in high school students from a state school in Metropolitan Lima, 2023(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2024-02-27) Huayta Chavez, Yesenia; Turriate Chávez, Jairo JaimeThe aim of this research was to determine the relationship between family violence and self-esteem in secondary school students from a state school in Metropolitan Lima, 2023. The sample consisted of 214 students, with a quantitative, descriptive-correlational approach, and a non-experimental design. The instruments used were the Gonzaga Family Violence Attitudes Scale (2014) and the Coopersmith Self-Esteem Inventory – school form (1967). The results showed a significant inverse correlation between family violence and self-esteem (rho = -0.745), fulfilling p < 0.05. Finally, it was confirmed that 92.1% of family violence cases were low, while 54.2% of self-esteem cases were high.
