As recommended by the World Health Organization. Breast milk contains nutrients, vitamins, minerals, water, necessary for the proper growth of the child. In addition to protecting it from allergies and helping to strengthen the mother-child bond. There are various factors that could influence the abandonment of exclusive breastfeeding; social and cultural factors and their relationship between them will be investigated. The present academic work is a quantitative, cross-sectional and correlational study. Its population would be made up of 80 mothers of children under 6 months old who attend the growth and development service of the Essalud Hospital, Lima. What we seek is to demonstrate what are the factors associated with the abandonment of breastfeeding. Its results will allow the creation or search for strategies to strengthen breastfeeding, for the benefit of mother and child.
