Ítem Acceso abierto Neurorehabilitation program for lumbalgia in patients with hernia of the nucleus pulposus. Physical medicine and rehabilitation service, essalud cajamarca 2023(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2023-07-07) Jara Puma, Raúl; Melgarejo Valverde, Jose AntonioNucleus pulposus herniation (NPH) is one of the most frequent complications, starting with pain in the lumbar region, followed by the rupture of the annulus fibrosus of the intervertebral disc, leading to protrusion into the spinal canal, and in more advanced stages, invasion of the spinal canal with the presence of neuropathic pain. The muscles of the core region of the body, such as the multifidi, abdominal muscles, diaphragm, and pelvic floor muscles, are responsible for maintaining the proper function of the lumbar spine, which is why it is important to maintain adequate strength in all these muscle groups for proper biomechanics. Due to the high prevalence of patients using the physical medicine and rehabilitation services at EsSalud Cajamarca, this project was proposed to establish the effect of a neurorehabilitation program on low back pain in patients with nucleus pulposus herniation. The program was formulated using CORE strengthening exercises, lumbar spine flexibility exercises, and functional activities aimed at improving the function of this region in patients suffering from low back pain caused by nucleus pulposus herniation.
