Ítem Acceso abierto Relationship between self-care and quality of life in patients with pulmonary tuberculosis who are treated at the I-3 Caja de Agua Health Center of San Juan de Lurigancho, 2023(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2024-02-29) Jesús Janampa, Beatriz Briyitt; Camarena Chamaya, Luis MiguelIntroduction: Pulmonary tuberculosis continues to be a public health problem in Peru, which is why the care and lifestyle of the patients influences their recovery from this disease. Objective: To determine how self-care is related to quality of life in patients with pulmonary tuberculosis at Centro de Salud I-3 Caja de Agua de San Juan de Lurigancho, 2023. Methodology: it is a study with a quantitative, correlational, cross-sectional and nonexperimental approach: 80 patients with pulmonary tuberculosis confirmed our sample; and the instruments that helped us to know the data are the self-care questionnaire and the FS-36 for quality of life, which allowed us to measure the two variables of this study. Results: regarding the results;60.0% are between the ages of 20 and 44, 30% correspond to women and 70% correspond to men, 40% are married, 30% correspond to employed patients, 30% have completed high school and the 60% have 7 or more people. In self-care, a higher percentage of self-care was obtained in the dimensions of rest/rest and family support with 60% each at the medium level, followed by the dimension’s nutrition, hygiene, personal development and hydration with 60% at the level medium, finally a lower percentage was obtained in the hygiene dimension in 60% of low level. Finally, in relation to quality of life, it can be seen that 80% present a better quality of life in the dimensions of bodily pain, general health and vitality. Conclusion: it was determined that there is a relationship between the variables self-care and quality of life in patients with pulmonary tuberculosis at the Centro de Salud I-3 Caja de Agua de San Juan de Lurigancho, 2023; because p=0.003 (p<0.05)
