In the present work, the analgesic activity of the ethanolic extract of the shells of the seeds of Persea americana Mill “Strong Avocado” was verified in albino mice. With the method of Koster et al Modified of writhings induced by 0.6% glacial acetic acid used as a writhing stimulant, the concentrations evaluated were 50, 100 and 200 mg / kg, of extract of the shells of the seeds Persea americana Mill “Strong Avocado”, compared with Tramadol 40 mg / kg and acetylsalicylic acid 200 mg / kg. Obtaining a percentage of reduction in contortions with acetylsalicylic acid 200 mg/kg 88%, Tramadol 40 mg/kg 94%, Persea americana Mill 100 mg/kg 88%, Persea americana Mill 200 mg/kg 94%. The analgesic activity of the ethanolic extract of the shells of the seeds Persea americana Mill at 200 mg/kg was verified and a 94% reduction in contortions compared to Tramadol 40 mg/kg that have the same effect.
