    Cumplimiento de las buenas prácticas de prescripción en pacientes de consulta externa del Instituto Nacional de Enfermedades Neoplásicas (INEN) en enero del año 2017

    The present study aims to determine compliance with good prescribing practices in standardized single prescriptions from the Central Pharmacy service for patients attended in the Outpatient Department of the National Institute of Neoplastic Diseases (INEN) in January 2017. A cross-sectional, retrospective, observational, and descriptive study was conducted, in which 1065 standardized single prescriptions were analyzed. According to the results obtained in Indicator 1 (patient data), 100% complied with surname and name; the other sub-indicators did not comply. According to the results obtained in Indicator 2 (drug data), none of the sub-indicators complied. According to the results obtained in Indicator 3 (prescribing physician data), none of the sub-indicators complied. In Indicator 4 (others), 99.06% complied with the use of legible handwriting, and 77.18% recorded the non-use of abbreviations. In conclusion, the application of the present thesis demonstrated that the standards of good prescribing practices in standardized medical prescriptions are not being met.
