Publicación Acceso abierto Plantas medicinales en el tratamiento de infecciones del tracto urinario en habitantes del distrito de San Antonio, provincia de Huarochirí, Lima – Perú 2023(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2024-01-15) Junes Polo, Lia Karen; Tarazona Espinoza, Miguel; Ñañez del Pino, DanielIn this research, the objective was: "To determine the use of medicinal plants in the treatment of urinary tract infections among the residents of the San Antonio district, Huarochirí province, Lima-Peru, 2023." Methodology: Deductive, with a quantitative approach, basic type, non-experimental design, cross-sectional, and descriptive level; with a sample of 359 residents of the San Antonio district, Huarochirí province, who were surveyed using 31 questions related to medicinal plants used in the treatment of urinary tract infections. Results: It was determined that medicinal plants are highly used (86.3%) by the residents of San Antonio for the treatment of urinary tract infections. The most commonly used medicinal plants were Manayupa (45.1%), corn (18.9%), horsetail (15.3%), fennel (14.8%), parsley (4.2%), and cranberry (1.7%). Additionally, the most used parts of the plants were leaves (30.9%) and the entire plant (27.9%). The most common methods of preparation were infusion (49.3%) and decoction (29.0%). Conclusion: Statistically, it was determined that the residents widely use medicinal plants for the treatment of urinary tract infections, with the predominant symptoms being lower back pain, frequent urination, and a burning sensation when urinating.
