Publicación Acceso abierto Interacciones medicamentosas potenciales en prescripciones médicas de pacientes COVID-19 que acuden a la Botica Soali en San Juan de Lurigancho de julio a diciembre 2021(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2022-07-07) López Rojas, Mónica Elizabeth; Puchoc Ibarra, Marioly Dashan; Parreño Tipián, Juan ManuelThe objective of this research was to identify the potential drug-drug interactions (PDDIs) present in medical prescriptions for COVID-19 patients who visited the Soali Drugstore in San Juan de Lurigancho from July to December 2021. A deductive method was applied, with a non-experimental, cross-sectional, observational, and descriptive design. The sample consisted of 271 prescriptions collected during the specified period. To verify the interactions, the Drugs.com, Medscape, and covid19-druginteractions.org checkers were used. The information obtained was recorded in a data collection form for analysis. Results: From the total number of medical prescriptions, the most common PDDIs were dexamethasone–enoxaparin (13.8%) and enoxaparin–paracetamol (93%). The most involved medications were enoxaparin (16.2%) and dexamethasone (14.9%). Regarding the number of interactions, 58.8% of prescriptions had 1 to 3 interactions, while 22.0% had 4 to 6. By interaction type, 98.3% were pharmacodynamic and 1.7% were pharmacokinetic. By severity level, 15.5% of interactions were major, 60.3% were moderate, and 24.3% were minor. The most frequent pharmacotherapeutic subgroups were non-opioid analgesics and NSAIDs (12.7%) and drugs affecting coagulation (11.8%). This research allows for the identification of drug interactions and thus helps prevent health problems related to medication use.
