    Efficacy of self-care of patients with heart failure to improve quality of life

    Objective: Systematize the evidence regarding the effectiveness of self-care for patients with heart failure to improve their quality of life. Materials and Methods: The design used was a retrospective and observational systematic review, which uses a specific method to summarize and synthesize the results of scientific articles. The population was made up of 40 scientific articles of which 10 articles that represent the sample were selected. Results: In the 10 selected articles, 40% (n=2) were carried out in Brazil, 20% (n=2) in Germany, 10% (n=1) in the United Kingdom, 10% (n=1) in the United States. United States, 10%(n=1) in Colombia and 10%(n=1) in Canada. Most of them were Systematic Review studies in 50% (n=6), Randomized Controlled Trial 30% (n=3), Meta-analysis 10% (n=1), quasi-experimental 10% (n=1). Of 10 pieces of evidence, 90% (n=9) affirm that self-care improves quality of life in patients with heart failure and 10% (n=1) does not show improvement in quality of life. Conclusions: There is high-quality evidence on the effectiveness of self-care in improving quality of life in patients with heart failure.
