Publicación Acceso abierto Formulación de un gel a partir del extracto etanólico de las hojas de Mangifera indica L. "mango" con efecto antiinflamatorio en ratones(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2021-05-22) Laureano Soca, Cielo Lucero; Chacaltana Pérez, Mercedes Tathiana; Chávez Flores, Juana ElviraCurrently, the production of phytopharmaceuticals or natural products with pharmacological properties often lacks scientific study to validate their medicinal uses and ensure they are free from microorganisms harmful to public health. The objective of this study was to confirm the anti-inflammatory effect of a gel formulated from the ethanolic extract of Mangifera indica L. ('Mango') leaves. Methodology: An experimental pharmacological study was conducted to evaluate the anti-inflammatory effect of the gel using the ear edema method in mice. The mice were randomly distributed into six groups of five, with noxa induced by xylene. The anti-inflammatory effect was compared with 1% diclofenac gel. In parallel, an accelerated stability study of the test gel was performed, evaluating organoleptic characteristics, pH, and microbial limit. Results: The 2.4% gel demonstrated similar effectiveness to the 1% diclofenac gel, with inflammation inhibition of 35.46% and 32.91%, respectively. The stability study evidenced that the 1.2% gel maintained better preservation at the end of the study period. Conclusion: It was confirmed that the gel derived from the ethanolic extract of the leaves of Mangifera indica L. 'Mango' has anti-inflammatory effectiveness via topical administration.
