Factores de la indicación de soporte nutricional parenteral en neonatos asociados a un diagnostico en el Hospital Nacional Guillermo Almenara Irigoyen, enero–marzo 2020
(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2022-03-21) Purizaca Guerrero, Erika Estefania; León Soria, Narciso Enrique
The objective of this research was to "Determine the factors for the indication of Parenteral Nutritional Support in neonates associated with a diagnosis at the Guillermo Almenara Irigoyen National Hospital, January – March 2020." Method: Data were recorded from electronic clinical records, and any necessary missing information was extracted from the physical clinical records of patients hospitalized in the neonatology service, yielding a total of 51 records. A correlational, cross-sectional, and retrospective study was conducted. Results: Caloric requirements, treatment duration, gestational age, and birth weight were determined as factors for the indication, and their relationship with a diagnosis was not significant. 60.8% of the patients were diagnosed with cardiorespiratory diseases, followed by 21.6% with gastrointestinal tract anomalies, and 17.6% with hypermetabolic states.

Impacto económico del fraccionamiento de antibióticos de uso intravenoso administradas en jeringas precargadas en pacientes neonatos de un hospital de Lima Metropolitana durante los meses de enero a marzo del 2017
(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2017-12-07) Becerra Zegarra, Paola Patricia; León Soria, Narciso Enrique
This study is a descriptive, retrospective, and cross-sectional analysis with the objective of determining the economic impact of fractionating intravenous antibiotics into pre-filled syringes for neonatal patients at a Metropolitan Lima Hospital from January to March 2017. The worksheets from the Centralized Intravenous Admixture Unit for the first quarter of the year were analyzed. It was determined that a total of 8,951 pre-filled syringes were prepared. This method generated a savings of 6,093 ampoules, which translated into an economic saving of 31,165.33 Peruvian soles. Of the nine antibiotics studied, the one with the highest turnover was Vancomycin (47.2%), followed by Meropenem (20.8%), Imipenem (20.3%), and Amikacin (8.4%). It is concluded that the Centralized Intravenous Admixture Unit adequately optimizes resources by fractionating intravenous antibiotics into pre-filled syringes. This enables the hospital to serve a greater number of neonatal patients, with appropriate equipment and highly trained personnel to provide reconstituted medications under optimal conditions for administration.

In Peru, there is currently limited statistics on the influence of Parenteral Nutrition (PN) in Premature Newborns (PNBs) with low birth weight. This vulnerable population exhibits a high degree of malnutrition postnatally, requiring specialized nutritional therapy like PN, which must be monitored with anthropometric parameters such as daily body weight from the start to the end of the therapy. The objective was to determine if a relationship exists between PN and body weight variation in PNBs at the San Bartolomé National Teaching Hospital for Mothers and Children from August to October 2018. Methodology: The study was correlational with an observational, analytical, and retrospective design. The study was conducted over a three-month period on PNBs with weights ranging from < 1.00 Kg to < 2.00 Kg who received PN via a central line. Data collected included sex, gestational age, weight, grams/Kg/day of proteins, carbohydrates, and lipids, and days on PN. The statistical analysis included the mean, standard deviation, range, and minimum and maximum values of the variables of interest. The difference and percentage variation of weight were estimated precisely. Results: Of the total PNBs < 2 Kg, the initial and final average PN values for proteins, carbohydrates, and lipids were in the range of 4−3.5 g/kg/day, 20.17−20.16 g/kg/day, and 3.1−3.5 g/kg/day, respectively. There was an increase in basal and final weight of 0.29 Kg/day (p=0.008) and a variation of 24.62%. For PNBs < 1.00 Kg, the final average PN values for proteins, carbohydrates, and lipids were: 4−3.5 g/kg/day, 10.10–17.29 g/kg/day, and 3.0−3.12 g/kg/day, respectively. The final weight increased from the basal weight by 0.23 Kg/day (p=0.048), with a significant variation of 31.46%. The distribution of initial and final PN weights in the rank test was significant at 8%. Conclusions: It was determined that all PNBs with weights < 1.00 Kg who received PN at the recommended dose had a greater increase in daily weight variation compared to PNBs with weights < 2.00 Kg who received PN at recommended doses and had a slightly lower increase in daily weight variation.

Origen y evolución de la farmacia en el Perú y el mundo
(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2015) Zapata Pérez, Rony Joselito; León Soria, Narciso Enrique
The present research work aims to facilitate the review of historical events in “Pharmacy,” recorded in the history of humankind. It seeks to observe its development and progress as a “Scientific Science” in a chronological context. Its origins are lost in time, and its development is preserved within society, like any other human institution, which adapts to the environment through knowledge, religion, science, technology, and social organization. In a first attempt to systematically collect the existing documentation related to the Historiography of Pharmacy in Peru and the world, it is necessary to start from historical information texts preserved by medical institutions, in order to try to understand the beginning of its professional formation in our country. The main objective and development of this research is to outline a historical sketch of Pharmacy, with the purpose of providing a global and reflective vision of its magical-religious beginnings and its evolution into an Applied Scientific Profession in the 21st century, as well as the relationships and ties established since the transculturation from Europe to America. Through this synergistic effect, Pharmacy has contributed to its development in various elements such as drug preparation techniques. With the purpose of carrying out this research, a descriptive and retrospective study plan was developed in order to facilitate access to pharmaceutical information in Peru and the world. Subsequently, a review of texts was conducted in documentation centers, such as the Central Library of the National University of San Marcos, the Central Library of the Norbert Wiener Private University, the Annals and Memoirs of the Faculty of Pharmacy and Biochemistry of the Norbert Wiener Private University, as well as articles, journals, and brochures. Access was also obtained through the Internet and other important sources of documentation.
