Ítem Acceso abierto Quality of care and anxiety in abdominal surgery patients in the perioperative period of the surgical center of a private clinic in Lima, 2022(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2022-09-25) Leon Campos, Zuleika Grimaneza; Fernández Rengifo, Werther FernandoIntroduction: The quality of nursing care is a critical factor in the management of high-complexity healthcare services, such as a surgical center, where the patient entering or about to undergo surgery faces a reality that can be perceived as a threat, leading to feelings of anxiety. If not addressed effectively, this anxiety can trigger a series of concomitant issues in the perioperative period of the operating room. Objective: To determine how the quality of care is related to anxiety in patients undergoing abdominal surgery in the perioperative period at the surgical center of a private clinic in Lima, 2022. Methodology: This is an applied, quantitative research with a correlational and cross-sectional design, using a probabilistic sample of 93 patients scheduled for general abdominal surgery in the perioperative period at the surgical center of a high-complexity private clinic in Lima, Peru. Data will be collected through surveys using two validated and reliable questionnaires: the nursing care quality questionnaire adapted by Rosales in 2016 and the Zung’s Universal Anxiety Scale to assess anxiety in the operating room. The collected data will be analyzed with SPSS 25, and the Spearman’s Rho correlation coefficient statistical test will be used to determine the association between the variables.
