Publicación Acceso abierto Violencia política de género y participación política de mujeres de la ciudad de Huaraz, Ancash 2024(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2025-03-03) Leyva Herreros, Gabriela del Pilar; Vargas Merino, Jorge AlbertoThe objective of this research was to analyze the relationship between gender-based political violence and women's political participation in the city of Huaraz, Ancash, in the year 2024. For this purpose, a quantitative approach and a hypothetico-deductive methodological design were adopted. The selected sample was non-probabilistic, composed of 80 women who participated in political activities during the last five years. The data collection instrument was a structured questionnaire with Likert scale, administered virtually through Google Forms. The data obtained were processed and analyzed with SPSS statistical software. The results obtained showed a moderate and significant negative relationship between gender-based political violence and female political participation (Rho = -0.380), suggesting that increased gender-based political violence reduces women's political participation. In addition, a moderate and significant negative relationship was observed between political violence and electoral participation (Rho = -0.315), as well as with civic participation (Rho = -0.409). However, no relationships were found between gender-based political violence and associative-opinion or partisan participation. In conclusion, gender-based political violence has a negative relationship, mainly in electoral and civic participation, thus limiting women's political inclusion and empowerment. However, in some areas of participation, such as associative-opinion and partisan, the relationships were not significant.
