Publicación Acceso abierto Determinación del cumplimiento de las buenas prácticas de prescripción (BPP) en el servicio de geriatría de consulta externa, del Hospital Nacional IV Alberto Sabogal Sologuren – EsSalud, durante el mes de julio del 2014(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2015) Limaymanta Aguirre, Margarita Natividad; Mamani Ccari, Esther; Herencia Torres, Victor ReynaldoThis thesis aimed to identify and evaluate deficiencies in compliance with Good Prescription Practices in medical prescriptions attended at the Geriatrics outpatient service of the Hospital Nacional IV Alberto Sabogal Sologuren – EsSalud, during July 2014. The analysis was conducted through a cross-sectional, observational, prospective, documentary, and comparative study, examining unitary medical prescriptions from all specialties, as well as prescriptions from patients with chronic treatments, emergency care, and hospitalized patients. The Good Prescription Practices Manual of the General Directorate of Medicines, Supplies and Drugs (DIGEMID), the Good Prescription Practices Manual of the World Health Organization (WHO), and the Medication Appropriateness Index (MAI) were used to design the data collection sheet, considering the essential characteristics that prescriptions must contain, in order to measure the magnitude of inappropriate prescribing in a population of 144 prescriptions over a one-year period. Photographs of attended prescriptions were taken; prescriptions from hospitalized patients, emergency patients, and patients with chronic treatments were excluded. The findings showed that 100% of prescriptions included the international nonproprietary name and the date of issue. However, 27.8% did not specify the concentration, 1.4% did not indicate the pharmaceutical form, 17.4% did not record the dosage, and 100% did not include the expiration date of the prescriptions.
