Ítem Acceso abierto Effectiveness of control measures to prevent tuberculosis in healthcare personnel(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2019-04-07) Lizárraga Gamarra, Ninfa Luz; Pérez Siguas, Rosa EvaObjective: Systematize evidence of high scientific value about the effectiveness of control measures to prevent tuberculosis in health personnel. Materials and Methods: The aforementioned research work has a type of qualitative study, designed through retrospective review, cohort studies and systematic reviews. The instruments that support this research work are the databases of EBSCO, Cochrane Library, British Medical Journal, Pub Med, American Journal of Infection control. Results: A search was carried out for 10 scientific articles that were considered as the population, of which 3 (30%) came from retrospective reviews, 4 (40%) from cohort studies, and 3 (30%) were systematic reviews. 70% of articles demonstrate the effectiveness of control measures to prevent tuberculosis in health personnel, with the implementation and evaluation of the three administrative, environmental and respiratory protection control measures; The remaining 30% affirm that the lack or deficiency of the three control measures produces a risk of contracting tuberculosis in health personnel. Conclusions: Based on all the articles presented, 7/10 articles, it is concluded that the triad of administrative, environmental control and respiratory protection were jointly implemented, preventing the spread of tuberculosis in health personnel. 3/10 articles state that these separate control measures are not effective because they do not protect the worker from tuberculosis.
