    Critical review: effect of renal replacement therapy on the quality of life of patients with chronic kidney disease

    Chronic kidney disease (CKD) results from a decrease in kidney function, and patients receiving renal replacement therapy (RRT) experience changes in their quality of life. This critical review titled “Critical Review: Effect of RRT on the Quality of Life of CKD Patients” aimed to provide a professional and critical assessment based on the review of relevant clinical studies on the topic. The clinical question was: “What is the effect of RRT on the quality of life of CKD patients?” The Evidence-Based Nutrition (NuBE) methodology was used to search for information in various databases like PubMed, Dialnet, Science Direct, and Redalyc, finding a total of 25 articles. The CASPE tool was applied to select 10 pertinent studies. As a result, the randomized clinical trial “Quality of life of patients having renal replacement therapy” was chosen. According to the research, this selected clinical trial has an A I level of evidence and a strong recommendation grade. The critical evaluation indicated that RRT significantly improves the quality of life of CKD patients.
