The Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) classifies surgical centers as category I, indicating high risk due to exposure to blood, fluids, and bodily tissues during procedures. Moreover, there is concern that the highest rate of workplace incidents in the health sector in our country involves puncture accidents, with 87% reported at the Dos de Mayo Hospital in 2013 and 77% at the Hipólito Unánue Hospital. Objective: To determine the level of knowledge about biosafety measures among nursing staff in the surgical center of a hospital in Lima. Materials and methods: The study follows a quantitative approach with a descriptive cross-sectional design. Data will be collected through surveys and analyzed. The population will include all nursing staff working in the surgical center who voluntarily participate in the study, consisting of 22 nurses and 15 nursing technicians.
