Ítem Acceso abierto Knowledge about food, of the patient with Diabetes Mellitus type 2, who goes to the Juliaca Health Micro Network, March-November 2020.(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2021-12-17) Inofuente Arguedas, Laura; Lozano Urbano, MIchelle FátimaMain objective: Determine the level of knowledge about nutrition of the patient with Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus, who attends the Juliaca Micro Health Network, March-November 2020. Material and methods: A questionnaire was designed, which was subjected to qualitative validation. -quantitative, the final and validated version of the instrument, was applied to the sample of 80 patients with DM2, through a survey, finally the data collected were statistically processed and interpreted. Results: The questionnaire of 13 questions, grouped into 3 dimensions, showed a content validity of 0.86 and reliability of 0.701. Regarding the evaluation of knowledge about nutrition in patients with Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus, 50% have a low level of knowledge, followed by 30% with an intermediate level and only 20% with a high level of knowledge, the majority of patients The age range was between 61-74 years (47.5%), the female sex predominated in the sample with 71.2%, the educational level achieved in the majority of patients was completed primary school 31.2% and incomplete 31.2%, 46.2% report that the average duration of their illness is 1-5 years, 28.7% have adequate basal blood glucose levels (121-150 mg/dl), 82.5% receive treatment with oral drugs and 66.2% has not received prior nutritional consultation. Conclusion: The developed instrument is valid and reliable, the level of knowledge about nutrition in patients with DM2 who attend the Juliaca Health Micro Network is predominantly low and is significantly associated with age and level of education.
