Ítem Acceso abierto Effectiveness of early goal-directed therapy compared to usual care to reduce mortality in patients with severe sepsis in critical units(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2019-12-01) Méndez Altamirano, Iraida; Jáuregui Mendoza, Javier Enrique; Bonilla Asalde, César AntonioObjective: Systematize evidence on the effectiveness of early goal-directed therapy compared to usual care to reduce mortality in patients with severe sepsis in critical units. Material and Methods: retrospective, quantitative observational systematic review, subject to critical analysis, using the Grade evaluation system, located in the database: Sciencedirect, PubMed, Researchgate, Epistemonikos and Scielo. Of 10 articles selected and systematically reviewed, 100% are of high quality as described: 90% are meta-analysis, 10% are systematic review. The results of the systematic review carried out in the research are from the countries of China, Italy, Iran, Korea and the United States. Results: Of the evidence found, 70% indicate that early goal-directed therapy is more effective than usual care in reducing mortality in patients with severe sepsis in critical units while 30% indicate the opposite. Conclusions: In 7 of the 10 articles reviewed it is evident that early goal-directed therapy is effective in reducing mortality in patients with severe sepsis in critical units. On the other hand, 3 of the 10 articles reviewed point out the opposite.Ítem Acceso abierto Knowledge of adolescent mothers about early stimulation in infants under one year old in the Growth and Development service of San Bartolomé Hospital, period May-August 2011.(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2011) Méndez Altamirano, Iraida; Pérez Aguilar, Lisbeth Graciela; López Vega, María JesúsCurrently, early stimulation in infants under one year of age is gaining greater importance, as during this period, their brain develops much of its potential. This should be fostered, considering that 13% of the total population are infants under one year old, and insufficient knowledge among mothers regarding early stimulation could lead to problems in their growth and development. The present research study, titled "Knowledge of Adolescent Mothers on Early Stimulation for Infants under One Year of Age in the CRED Service at San Bartolomé Hospital, May-August 2011," aimed to determine the level of knowledge of adolescent mothers regarding early stimulation for infants under one year of age. It is a quantitative study with a descriptive method and a cross-sectional design. A non-probabilistic intentional sampling method was used; the sample size consisted of 70 mothers included in the study. The technique employed was the interview, with a questionnaire as the instrument, which was validated through expert judgment and subjected to a pilot test for statistical reliability. Subsequently, the data collection was carried out, and the data were processed to be presented in statistical graphs for analysis and interpretation, leading to the following conclusion: adolescent mothers of infants under one year of age attending the CRED service have an average level of knowledge regarding early stimulation activities.
