Several studies have observed that adolescents possess knowledge about contraception issues, but this knowledge is incomplete or incorrect. Over the years, teenage pregnancy rates have also varied and increased. This information demonstrates a clear need to provide counseling and guidance services through Reproductive Health and Family Planning for this human group. Objectives: To determine the level of knowledge and attitudes toward contraceptive methods in adolescents from the Educational Institution Nº. 5127 Mártir José Olaya, located in AA.HH. José Olaya - Pachacutec. Methodology: The study is descriptive and cross-sectional. The study population consists of a total of 219 third, fourth, and fifth-year secondary school students from I.E. Mártir José Olaya. The instrument used is a questionnaire survey to assess attitudes and knowledge about the use of contraceptive methods, which will be frequently applied to adolescents attending the institution. The survey consists of three parts: General information: (03 items). Level of knowledge: (8 items). Level of attitudes: (8 items). The corresponding results will be processed. Results: The applied survey determined that secondary school students from I.E. have a low level of knowledge, with attitudes toward risk situations that hinder their psychosocial development. Adolescents reported that having a child at an early age primarily means taking on more responsibility and maturity in this new stage of their lives.
