The issue of anemia due to iron deficiency and the application of inadequate treatments can be found at all socioeconomic levels, with higher prevalence in developing countries, particularly affecting vulnerable populations such as pregnant women. With the advancement of technology in next-generation hematological analyzers and the implementation of new parameters in hemogram reporting that support better management in diagnosing anemias, such as reticulocyte indicators (including reticulocyte hemoglobin and the traditional measurement of serum ferritin), this forms the basis of the present investigation.
