The aging of the population is currently happening at a faster rate than in previous years. Aging can be seen as a success of socioeconomic development and public health policies, but also as a social challenge to improve health and functional capabilities. The capacity of older adults is crucial, including their social involvement and safety. Objective: To determine the sociodemographic factors related to functional capacity in older adults at AAHH Villa Solidaridad, San Juan de Miraflores District in 2022. The study design was quantitative, observational, correlational, and cross-sectional. The sample consisted of 150 older adults. The instruments used were a data collection form and the Barthel Index. The average age was 67.99 years, with a higher proportion of females and independent functional capacity. A significant statistical relationship was found between functional capacity and sociodemographic factors, except for income.
