    Knowledge about sterilization processes and practices of the nurse at the sterilization center of the Regional Hospital of Arequipa, 2024

    Introduction: The nursing staff working in the central sterilization unit (CE) is responsible for ensuring the effectiveness of sterilization processes, for which they must acquire specific knowledge and skills. Objective: "To determine how knowledge about sterilization processes is related to the practices of nurses in the sterilization center of the regional hospital of Arequipa, 2023". Methodology: The research will employ a hypothetical deductive approach, using a quantitative method with an applied level of correlational analysis. The sample size will consist of 60 nurses. To collect data, a validated questionnaire will be administered to assess knowledge and a checklist will be used to assess nursing practices related to the sterilization process. Both instruments have demonstrated high reliability, with KR-20 coefficients of 0.890 and 0.910, respectively. Data collection from each participant is estimated to take approximately 25 minutes. Descriptive results will be presented and analyzed using tables. In addition, the hypothesis will be tested using Spearman's test with a confidence level of 95% as statistical estimation.
