    Relación de la anemia y rendimiento académico en escolares de la Institución Educativa “0051 José Faustino Sánchez Carrión” del distrito de Lurigancho-Chosica octubre-noviembre 2024

    Objective: To determine the relationship between anemia and academic performance in schoolchildren of the educational institution "0051 José Faustino Sánchez Carrión" of the district of Lurigancho- Chosica October-November 2024. Methodology: hypothetical deductive, quantitative, basic, non-experimental, cross-sectional and correlational level, observation technique and observation sheet instrument, with 248 schoolchildren from 6 to 11 years of age, of which the presence of anemia was determined by evaluating the levels of hemoglobin and hematocrit; to analyze the academic performance, the grades were requested. The data collected were recorded in the cards, for later analysis. Results: The majority sex was female with 56.0%, the majority of schoolchildren were 8 years old (34.7%). A 9.3% of moderate anemia was evident, 17.3% of mild anemia and 73.4% of schoolchildren without anemia, likewise the hematocrit level was identified with 44.35% of level Low and 55.65% high level. On the other hand, 1.2% of schoolchildren in the Beginning stage – C, 15.3% In progress – B, 83.5% in Expected achievement – A and no student with an Outstanding achievement– AD academic performance. Conclusion: There is a relationship between anemia and academic performance in schoolchildren with a p value <0.005.
