Ítem Acceso abierto Knowledge about contraceptive methods and practice in adolescents at the Pamplona 2024 Health Post(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2024-04-07) Marin Choque, Evelyn Kyara; Morillo Acasio, Berlina del RosarioCurrently, the topic is relevant to the sexual and reproductive health of adolescents, addressing the intersection between knowledge, decision-making, and the effective use of contraceptive methods in this crucial stage of development. Lack of access to information on contraceptive methods and reluctance to address the issue contribute to risky behaviors such as infections and unwanted pregnancies. According to the WHO, adolescent pregnancy, a public health concern, poses risks to both mother and child, increasing the chances of diseases and mortality (1,2). Objective: To determine how knowledge about contraceptive methods relates to practice in adolescents at the Pamplona 2024 Health Center. Materials and Methods: The research will be based on the hypothetical-deductive method, using a general hypothesis to reach verifiable conclusions. The approach will be quantitative, using numbers and percentages, with observational data collection and statistical analysis. It is an applicative study that seeks to understand the relationship between variables without intervening in them. The research design will be non-experimental, correlational, and cross-sectional, without manipulation of variables. The study's population consists of 85 adolescents from the Pamplona 2024 Health Center, using a census population, probabilistic, simple, non-replacement sampling, including all adolescents who meet the established criteria.
