Ítem Acceso abierto Nursing interventions in adult patients with acute myocardial infarction in the emergency service of a national hospital in Lima, 2020(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2021-01-22) MartÍnez Pacheco, Cristina; Gonzales Saldaña, Susan HaydeeThe present academic work is considered for my project because it focuses on an emergency and clearly radiates one of the diseases that cause sudden death. This situation, during the pandemic, has led to more cases, such as Acute Myocardial Infarction, which has a 73% mortality rate annually in Peru. In the case of males, it is 90% in extra-hospital settings, due to lack of knowledge in management, distance, and other factors. It is associated with Hypertension (61%), Obesity (60%), mainly in the coast (88%) due to poor eating habits and lifestyle, with the highest percentage in Lima (71.1%) and among those aged 61 to 80 years (53%). According to the WHO, there are 18 million deaths, and the PAHO states that 2 million die due to lack of knowledge about their pathologies in those over 45 years old. According to international studies, if there is an immediate response from emergency nurses, mortality can be reduced by 80%. Immediate drug management and activation of protocols are emphasized. National studies indicate that the management by emergency nurses is protocolized and much better, and another study added that more cases are found in males over 60 years old. It emphasizes that if there is good management by the team and trained emergency nurses, the majority of patients will be discharged within 5 to 8 days with prior recommendations and guidance for the accompanying family.
