    Knowledge about aspiration of secretions and practices of nurses who work in the intensive care unit of a national hospital in metropolitan Lima 2023

    Introduction: in the intensive care areas of hospitals, constantly in daily practice that nursing professionals have different difficulties in the management and practice of aspiration of secretions, which shows the lack of training, knowledge, lack of experience in critical areas, lack of dissemination of protocols, among others. Objective: Determine the relationship between the level of knowledge about aspiration of secretions and the practices of nurses who work in the intensive care unit of a National Hospital of Metropolitan Lima, 2023. Methods: the study will be based on the application of the method hypothetical deductive, the approach will be quantitative, the type of research will be applied, the design will be nonexperimental, cross-sectional, correlational in scope; The population will be 44 nurses. The instrument for the variable "knowledge and practices" will use a questionnaire with a Likerttype scale, adapted by Mendoza in a similar study, to evaluate the practices, an observation guide adapted by Romero will be used. The results obtained will be processed using statistical programs and will be presented through tables and graphs.
