Ítem Acceso abierto Emotional overload in relatives of patients hospitalized in uci in the emergency hospital Villa El Salvador lima 2019(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2019-08-22) Rodriguez Cáceres, Yersy Ademir; Matos Valverde, CarmenObjective: To determine the level of emotional overload in the relatives of patients hospitalized in the intensive care unit at the Villa El Salvador Emergency Hospital. Material and method: The approach of the study is quantitative and the design is non-experimental, descriptive, cross-sectional, the study considered a total population with the participation of 100 relatives of patients who are hospitalized in ICU, during the months of April to June the technique used was the survey, the instrument to collect data was the Zarit Caregiver Burden Scale consisting of 22 items Results: it is observed that 61% of respondents consider that the emotional overload of relatives of patients hospitalized in ICU, is an intense overload level, versus 29% who consider it was a mild overload level and 10% consider it a level of no overload, it is observed that 59% of respondents consider that the overload in its dimension impact of care on relatives of patients hospitalized in ICU, presented an intense overload level, versus 41% consider it was a mild overload level, it is observed that 63% of respondents consider that the overload in its dimension quality of care in relatives of the patients hospitalized in ICU, is an intense level of overload, 16% represents no overload, versus 19% who was a mild level of overload, it is observed that 79% consider that the overload in its dimension expectations of care in relatives present an intense level of overload, 12% consider a level of no overload, versus 9% who consider that it was a level of no overload. Conclusions: It is concluded that the relatives of patients hospitalized in the ICU predominate a level of intense overload and to a lesser extent a mild overload, which tells us that it is a susceptible population to be in charge of the constant care of their relative.
