Material and method: The systematic review of the ten scientific evidences found on the effectiveness of breastfeeding for the prevention of acute diarrheal diseases and acute respiratory infections in children under 2 years of age, were found in the following information sources such as Pubmed, Redalyc, Cochrane, Epistemonikos, which were examined according to the Grade system for the identification of the degree of evidence of the published articles. Results Of the 10 articles reviewed, 40% (n = 4/10) is a systematic review, 20% (n = 2/10) is a systematic review and meta-analysis, 10% (n = 1/10) is a meta-analysis, 10% (n = 1/10) are case-control studies, 10 % (n = 1/10) are prospective cohort studies and 10% (n = 1/10) is a longitudinal study. In the 10 statements systematically reviewed, 100% (n=10/10) show the effectiveness of breastfeeding for the prevention of acute diarrheal diseases and acute respiratory infections in children under 2 years of age. Conclusions: Of the 10 scientific evidences reviewed, 100% (n=10/10) show the effectiveness of breastfeeding for the prevention of acute diarrheal diseases and acute respiratory infections in children under 2 years of age.
