Publicación Acceso abierto Errores en la medicación de pacientes y grupo profesional de salud en el área de Medicina Interna de la Clínica Internacional sede San Borja de abril 2020–marzo 2021.Lima 2021(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2021-08-05) Mejía Fernández, Edith del Rocío; Izquierdo Santillan, Abigail; Justil Guerrero, Hugo JesúsMedication Errors (MEs) that occur during the medication utilization process and involve healthcare professionals in the hospital setting constitute a relevant clinical problem that poses a risk to patient safety, making preventative measures necessary. The objective of this study was to evaluate the relationship between patient MEs and the healthcare professional group in the internal medicine area of the Clínica Internacional, San Borja branch, from April 2020 to March 2021. The research was applied type, with an observational, cross-sectional design. A data collection form was used. The population was 2,446 Medical Prescriptions (MPs), and the sample was 333 randomly selected prescriptions, analyzed with a 95% confidence level. Results: The relationship between patient MEs and the healthcare professional group showed 5.7% in prescribing errors committed by the surgeon, followed by 4.2% in administration committed by the licensed nurse, and 1.8% in dispensing committed by the pharmacy assistant, pharmaceutical chemist assistant, and pharmacy technician. Conclusion: The most relevant relationship between patient MEs and the healthcare professional group in the internal medicine area of the Clínica Internacional, San Borja branch, was found in prescribing errors committed by surgeon doctors.
