Ítem Acceso abierto Effectiveness of an educational intervention for promoting healthy eating in school-aged children(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2018-07-08) García Pinedo, Katherine; Mejía Rivero, Blanca Natalia; Rivera Lozada de Bonilla, OrianaObjective: To systematize the evidence on the effectiveness of educational interventions for promoting healthy eating in school-age children. Methodology: A systematic, retrospective review synthesizing research relevant to nursing, based on evidence that addresses our research question. The GRADE system was used to assign the strength of recommendations. Results: Ten scientific articles were selected, with 30% from Peru, another 30% from Mexico, 20% from Spain, and 10% from Colombia and Chile. The selected articles were mostly quasi-experimental, with 40% from Mexico, Colombia, and Peru; pre-experimental studies (20%) from Spain and Peru; systematic reviews (10%) from Spain; controlled trials (10%) from Mexico; experimental studies (10%) from Mexico; and quasi-experimental studies (10%) from Chile. These studies indicate that educational interventions are highly effective for school-age children, enhancing their knowledge of healthy eating. Conclusions: The research demonstrated that educational interventions are 100% effective in promoting healthy eating among school-age children, improving their dietary habits and strengthening their physical activity.
