Ítem Acceso abierto Effectiveness of an educational intervention for the promotion of healthy eating in school children.(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2018-07-08) García Pinedo, Katherine; Mejía Rivero Blanca, Natalia; Rivera Lozada de Bonilla, OrianaObjective: To systematize the evidence regarding the effectiveness of educational interventions for promoting healthy eating in school-aged children. Methodology: A systematic and retrospective review that synthesizes research contributing to nursing, based on evidence, answering our research question. The GRADE system was used to assign the strength of recommendation. Results: Ten scientific articles were selected, with 30% from Peru, another 30% from Mexico, 20% from Spain, and 10% from Colombia and Chile. Of the selected articles, the majority were quasi-experimental (40%) from Mexico, Colombia, and Peru; pre-experimental (20%) from Spain and Peru, systematic review (10%) from Spain, controlled trial (10%) from Mexico, experimental (10%) from Mexico, and quasi-experimental (10%) from Chile. These studies confirm that educational interventions are highly effective in school-aged children, significantly improving knowledge about healthy eating. Conclusions: The studies showed that educational interventions are 100% effective in promoting healthy eating in school-aged children, improving their eating habits and enhancing physical activity.
