Ítem Acceso abierto Fall risk in older adults attending the Taytawasi Geriatric Health Center in Villa María del Triunfo, Lima 2019(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2019-09-06) Meléndez Ramos, Herlith Mercedes; Gonzales Saldaña, Susan HaydeeObjective: Determine the risk of falling in the elderly who attend the Taytawasi Geriatric Health Center in Villa María del Triunfo, Lima 2019. Materials and Methods: The present research has a quantitative approach, of a descriptive type, in terms of the methodological design of cross section, non-experimental. The population is made up of 311 older adults, of which the population sample is 100 patients selected according to inclusion and exclusion criteria highlighted in the study. The instrument for the variable Risk of falling in the elderly is the application of the Tinetti scale, which assesses gait and balance to early determine the risk of falling in an elderly person. Results: According to the results of the analyses, there is no risk of falls in the elderly in 29%, an average risk of falls in 34% and a high risk of falls in 37%. There is an average risk of falling of 37.43%, a high risk of falling of 32.14% and no risk of 30.43%. There is a level of balance in the average risk of falling of 30%, a high risk of falling of 44% and no risk of 27%. %. Older adults were found to be 83% female and 17% male. The highest risk age was 71-80 years with 45%. Conclusions: In general, there is a high and medium risk of falling in older adults at the Taytawasi Geriatric Health Center.
