Effectiveness of changing the peripheral venous catheter in the prevention of phlebitis
(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 1905-07-09) Cachi Sanchez, Bertha Elizabeth; Sanches Huisa, Mirian Marcela; Mendigure Fernández, Julio
Objective: Systematize the available evidence on the effectiveness of changing the peripheral venous catheter for the prevention of phlebitis. Methodology: The study carried out is a Systematic Review of 10 articles in the LILACS, SCIELO, MEDLINE, and PUBMED databases, whose search has been restricted to articles with full text, and the selected articles were subjected to a critical reading, using the Jover's evaluation to identify its level of evidence. Results: In the review of the Articles, the effectiveness of changing the peripheral venous catheter to prevent phlebitis is observed; However, in the latest studies carried out, the permanence time of peripheral devices does not show the cause of the origin of vascular complications such as phlebitis, in relation to the systematic change and replacement due to clinical indication in adult patients with intravenous treatment. Conclusion: The evidence shows that to prevent phlebitis in hospitalized patients, changing the peripheral venous catheter does not necessarily require routine change every 72 hours, but rather when clinically indicated. Most of the studies reviewed provide input to the nursing professional and health institutions shared benefits. patient safety, reduction in procedures and time in care and reduction in costs

(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 1905-07-09) Machado Zamudio, Fresia Carolina; Muchaypiña Canales, Gladys Leticia; Mendigure Fernández, Julio
It is evident that in 60% (n=06/10) the use of Hydrocolloid is effective in the management of pressure ulcers; Since the dressings promote effective epithelialization and healing of wounds, they show an advantage over traditional healing, as they are an advanced technology treatment, achieving an adequate cost-benefit. On the other hand, 40% (n=04/10) of studies made a comparison with other dressings, where the statistical data were not sufficient to affirm the effectiveness of hydrocolloids.

Efficacy of self-care of arteriovenous fistula in hemodialysis patients
(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 1905-07-09) Bautista Rodrigez, Carmen Cecilia; Talaverano Gutierrez, Bertha Maria; Mendigure Fernández, Julio
Objective: Systematize the available evidence on the effectiveness of self-care for arteriovenous fistula in hemodialysis patients. Material and methods: This is a Systematic Review of 20 articles in the database GOOGLE ACADEMICO, SCIELO, MEDLINE, whose search has been restricted to articles with full text, and the selected articles were subjected to a critical reading, using the evaluation of Jover to identify its degree of evidence. Results: It was found that the patients' level of AVF self-care knowledge was high in 15 articles. In 3 studies it was found that they have a low level of knowledge and in 1 a regular level of knowledge. Through this systematic review it can be stated that the increase in knowledge generates positive and lasting changes in behaviors or care practices for arteriovenous fistula, avoiding the most frequent complications, such as loss of the fistula, infections. It is necessary to emphasize self-care since it allows the person to have autonomy when acting to maintain their health. Conclusion: The effectiveness of self-care of arteriovenous fistula in hemodialysis patients was evidenced since self-care based on an educational intervention program is effective in reducing clinical risks in hemodialysis patients.
