Ítem Acceso abierto Association between occlusal trauma and type of gingival recession in patients treated at the Dental Clinic Ecodental - Huánuco in 2021(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2022-02-04) Morales Guerrero, Andrea Córali; Meneses Gomez, Nadia CarolinaObjective: To determine the association between occlusal trauma and the type of gingival recession in patients treated at the Ecodental dental clinic in Huánuco in 2021. Methodology: An observational, cross-sectional study was conducted with 108 patients, evaluating clinical indicators for the presence of occlusal trauma, such as wear facets, percussion pain, dental mobility, premature contact, and occlusal interference. Gingival recession was determined according to Miller's classification: class I, II, III, and IV. The data obtained were analyzed using the chi-square test and Fisher's exact test, with statistical significance assumed for a p-value < 0.05. Results: The collected data showed the presence of occlusal trauma in 51.9% of the evaluated patients, associated with wear facets, dental mobility, and premature contact. Regarding the frequency of gingival recession and its types, 75.0% showed recession, with class I being the most prevalent at 39.8%. In the association results between occlusal trauma and gingival recession, 51.9% of patients with occlusal trauma had gingival recession; whereas, in the association between occlusal trauma and the type of gingival recession, 33.3% and 23.5% of patients with occlusal trauma had Miller's class II and I recession, respectively. Conclusions: An association was found between occlusal trauma and the type of gingival recession in the evaluated sample.Ítem Acceso abierto Implication of third molar eruption in lower anterior crowding in young patients, Tacna, 2021.(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2022-05-02) Cervantes Cervantes, Maracely Alejandra; Meneses Gomez, Nadia CarolinaThe aim of this study was to determine the degree of involvement of third molar eruption in anteroinferior crowding in young patients in Tacna, 2021. The research method was deductive, with a quantitative approach, basic type, correlational level, and non-experimental design. The sample consisted of 150 panoramic dental radiographs of young patients. A data collection sheet was used to determine the study objective. The results showed that 68.5% of young patients exhibited a high degree of involvement of third molars with anteroinferior crowding. Additionally, a higher incidence of dental crowding was observed in females, with 43.5% in relation to the third molars. Furthermore, 17% of young patients showed greater dental crowding in the right third molar in the mesioangular position, and 15.7% showed greater crowding in the left third molar in the horizontal position. It was found that 45.4% of young patients presented mostly moderate dental crowding in the third molars. The study concluded that there is a high degree of involvement of third molar eruption in anteroinferior crowding.Ítem Acceso abierto Level of Knowledge about Informed Consent Covid 19-MINSA, in Dentistry Students of 9th and 10th Cycle of Norbert Wiener University.(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2021-08-06) Solis Ugarte, Miguel Anthony; Meneses Gomez, Nadia CarolinaThe main objective of this research was to determine the level of knowledge about informed consent for COVID-19 – Ministry of Health of Peru (MINSA) among dentistry students in the 9th and 10th cycles at the Norbert Wiener Private University. The study was observational, cross-sectional, prospective, and descriptive. A questionnaire consisting of 20 anonymous questions was administered to the study participants through a virtual survey. The results revealed that 38% of the students exhibited a low level of knowledge about the informed consent for COVID-19 – MINSA. In contrast, 62% of the sample had a medium level of knowledge. No students were reported to have a high level of knowledge about the informed consent for COVID-19 – MINSA. Based on the results, it was concluded that the level of knowledge about the informed consent for COVID-19 – MINSA was medium for most students in the 9th and 10th cycles at the Norbert Wiener Private University.
