Ítem Acceso abierto Effectiveness of masotherapy in the reduction of neonatal jaundice in newborns.(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2020-12-20) Meneses Quinto, Liz Jhovana; Palacios Sánchez, Gladys Noelia; Arevalo Marcos, Rodolfo AmadoObjective: To systematize the available scientific evidence on the effectiveness of massage therapy in reducing neonatal jaundice in newborns. Material and Methods: Systematic review of scientific articles found about the effectiveness of massage therapy in reducing neonatal jaundice in newborns, which were analyzed using the Grade scale to establish their strength and quality of evidence, were reviewed in the following databases: Dialnet, Lilacs, Pubmed, Scielo, Cochrane, Ebsco; Results: Of the 10 articles reviewed, 30% (n = 3/10) are systematic reviews, 20% are meta-analyses (n = 2/10), 30% (n = 3/10) are controlled clinical trials, 10% (n = 1/10) are quasi-experimental, 10% (n = 1/10) are systematic reviews and meta-analyses. The review of the articles shows that 90% (n = 9/10) report that massage therapy is effective for reducing neonatal jaundice in newborns, and 10% conclude that massage therapy is not effective for reducing neonatal jaundice in newborns. Conclusion: The studies reviewed in this work indicate that there is sufficient scientific evidence to corroborate the effectiveness of massage therapy in reducing neonatal jaundice in newborns.
